Frozen Lake Houhai

The adventures of Bill in Beijing…

The lake, Houhai, is frozen. It’s one of the several manmade lakes in downtown Beijing, and they’re all very nice. This isn’t a temple fair, though there is one right next door we now know, but just the second day of Spring Festival at Houhai Lake. Apparently, that means ice skating on chairs. The lake is lined with restaurants, shops, bars, and I believe one jazz club. (There’s one I know of, but there are a couple lake spots to check. Jazz at the end of an almost two week festival sounds perfect.)

From here we just make an on the way metro stop at Xidan to get dinner and end the tour day. A perfectly roasted Peking Duck sounds ideal.
